It was a sunny day and I felt in the mood to create my "Golden Series" kanzashi.
Here are the designs.
As I mentioned in a previous post, these three have been called the golden series due to the fabric colour. Of course when I brought the fabric the colour was described as being peach but to my eyes it looks more golden.
So without further delay here they are.
Golden Whirl
Golden Fan
Golden Charm
This is the first time I have created a series of designs with a common theme and they look oh so sweet all together. I must do this more often!

Twitterfeed is annoying me!
I wonder why twitterfeed is not posting my blogger post?
What do I need to do to make it work!

Art in the Garden (Sheffield)
After many hours of deliberating with friends and myself (which has probably made my mother think I have lost my marbles) I have decided to submit an application for a stall at the Art in the Garden event in Sheffield on 4th and 5th September 2010.
For me this is a huge step in getting my little kanzashi business some much needed publicity and to make a modest living doing something that I believe in with all my heart.
But the task ahead of me is a mammoth one as I will need to make enough items for my stall which will be a 8'' by 2'' counter.
Time to start making a list.

Golden series - new kanzashi designs
After being a good girl and spent the last few days studying, I have come up with three new designs titled the "Golden series".
Called this because the silk fabric is golden in colour.
I will keep the designs under wrap until I have made them so keep your eyes peeled for them.

Correlation between music and fashion.
While out shopping with my friend today, we started to talking about the music and we both agree that 80's music is the best. However 80's fashion is just dreadful!
So this lead to the question, is there a indirect relation between music and fashion? I.e good music but bad fashion.
So the 90's is in the middle grounds but the last 10 years the fashion has been good but the music is just awful! Of course there have been exceptional bands and artists but overall the music has been bad in my opinion.
What do you think?

Twitter here I come!
Yesterday I finally got the courage to try out twitter.
Who knows this may or may not work out for my kanzashi venture but I'm willing to give it a try.

New Kanzashi - Snow White
Well since I have time on my hands inbetween studying for my ACCA exams here is another kanzashi for you to cast your eye over.
As usual, here is the design I had in mind.
And the finished kanzashi is below.
Apart from the minor details of the flowers and snowflake centres being changed and the additional white snowflakes, this one actually turned out as planned.
The flowers are made from the remaining cream/white silk lining that I used to make my Jade Ume. The snowflake still need a little work as I should have used hot glue to secure the petals but I wanted to find out if rice glue would actually do the job. Well the answer is yes but it is fragile and I will need to add a layer of vanish at the back to stabilise the petals. Not to mention the next time I make it for a paying customer, I have to remember to lay the snowflake design under the OHP slide (which I use to arrange my petals on the felt base) so I can keep the snowflake arms the same length.
Of course the next question I need to ask myself is what next?
I have some bronze coloured silk fabric I would like to use but what flower style should I use?
